Green Man: This is the mighty Nyiragongo volcano's lava lake in Congo, Central Africa. It has one of the largest lava lakes in the world that roars and hisses night and day, as if a great dragon lives within its depths. I am mesmerized and lured toward volcanoes like a bug being pulled toward a bright light. There is even a voice deep within my primal brain that sees the glow of a volcano's lava lake, and says, "Jump!!" To that end, if I had a terminal illness with only one week left to live, I would end that week by leaping into the heart of the lava pool at Nyiragongo. What a spectacular, quick and fitting way to return to the heart of Mother Earth upon death!!
I'm always delighted and impressed when I visit your blog. Yes, a jump into the volcano would be a lovely way to go.
There's a recent article in Scientific American Mind in which you might be interested. The author contends that the cognitive disinhibition associated with schitzotypal disorders enhances creativity. He annoys me when he assumes that the increased information flow of this type of mind only makes us "think" we experience things we really don't. The truth is, it helps us know things he doesn't know and doesn't believe in. But, the article helped me understand my own hypersensitivity to spiritual and material stimulae and its relationship with my art. Contact me through my blog if you'd like a copy of the article. Is an atheistic, bisexual, male, Social Democrat exploring his ancestral roots of European Paganism. His primary belief system is Zen Buddhism. However, this blog will be about his various Pagan, Neo-Pagan and Earth Based spirituality beliefs. He is an amateur herbalist and an aspiring shaman. His Pagan beliefs are rooted in the Earth--that which he can touch, feel, smell and taste. He doesn't believe in the literal belief of gods and other mythological beings. Rather he sees them as archetypes to help enrich his personal spiritual journey.
Green Man also writes about the mundane, politics and lifestyle stories. And even a bit of sexuality from time to time. He is most at home in the woods and is a tireless defender of Mother Earth. As this blog is only open to a few people in my personal life, I ask those people to keep my privacy. This is a place for me to fully be myself - please don't ruin that for me. Please grant me the privacy that I would accord you. Thank-you for your respect. I'm often slow on replying to comments but I usually get to them all eventually. Thanks for reading!!
